Baby Blankets

Newborn babies loved to be swaddled. Swaddling gives them the same close comfort they experienced in the womb. Baby blankets are just the right size to wrap baby up in a little baby burrito.

The most common size of baby blankets is receiving blankets. Receiving blankets are a good size for a brand new baby and are lightweight enough that they won’t overheat the tiny one. They are also great for lining play surfaces.

Larger baby blankets used to be used in the crib. Safety standards today state that a child should not be put to sleep with a blanket or swaddled, instead they should sleep in a warm, wearable sleeping bag. Save larger blankets for when the child is old enough to safely sleep with them.
